She also facilitates performance improvement initiatives for all departments within the organization that yield best practice and services to our patients and their family members. <strong>Jacquelyn has been working in the healthcare industry for 8 years</strong> with specialties including psychiatric services, cardiothoracic intensive care, and emergency care/resuscitation within multiple healthcare organizations. Her clinical experience specifically includes direct care with various leadership and education roles. <strong>Jacquelyn initially earned her B.S. degree in Psychology from Stony Brook University</strong> before attending Drexel University to obtain her B.S.N. and graduated valedictorian of her nursing class. She then obtained her M.S.N. in Nursing Education from Grand Canyon University. <strong>She is a current PhD student studying Nursing Science through Wilkes University</strong> with an expected graduation date of 2026. This is because Northbrook is different in its prioritization of therapeutic services as a central feature of treatment for inpatients. Here, we take therapy seriously, and the robustness of the Adjunct Therapy team is proof.</p><p><strong>AT is comprised of a variety of disciplines including</strong> clinical mental health counseling and psychology, music therapy, art therapy, recreation therapy, marriage and family therapy, substance abuse counseling, and more. Each therapist is skilled in their area of practice and passionate about working in inpatient psychiatric practice.</p> <p><strong>To best serve the needs of her staff and patients and to ensure the highest quality of clinical care</strong>, Corey mobilizes learning from her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision in her role as Director. Her multi-faceted career has been devoted to helping mental health clients in a variety of venues and modules including counseling, music therapy, healthcare administration, and clinical supervision. </p><p><strong>Corey is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers</strong> and has provided multidisciplinary training and supervision in MI for clinicians in the U.S. and Canada. Corey has presented at conferences and organizations on advanced counseling skills, creative arts therapy leadership, burnout and self-care, mindfulness, and meditative labyrinth walking. Given her passion for culturally informed and trauma responsive practice, Corey currently leads the trauma-informed care training for all staff at Northbrook. </p>

Kurani, MD</h4> Director of Psychiatry <h3>Biography</h3> <strong>Dr. Kurani provides clinical and administrative oversight</strong> over a team of 20 full-time and part-time practitioners including psychiatrists, Internal medicine consultants, and Psychiatric nurse practitioners. He completed his psychiatry residency training at the acclaimed UMDNJ (Newark) Psychiatry residency program. <b>D</b><b>uring his time there, Dr. Kurani was elected as the Assistant Chief</b> and subsequently re-elected as the program's Chief resident. He has multiple publications in international medical journals and has been a recipient of the prestigious Lester A. Granet award. <b>Dr. Kurani joined the Northbrook Behavioral Health Hospital in 2014.</b> Prior to then, he had worked at Inspira Health Network serving as Medical Director and Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry for several years. <strong>He has been involved with the field of Psychiatry for 20 years</strong> and has vast experience in the areas of inpatient, outpatient, crisis, and consultation- liaison psychiatry. Through the years, he has played a key role in identifying and implementing innovative treatment programs across various settings while partnering with different hospital systems, State agencies and Community services. <strong>For more than a decade, he has been actively involved</strong> in the development and propagation of Telepsychiatry as an effective treatment modality while maintaining an active practice of Telepsychiatry across multiple states.

She is pleased to be part of the Northbrook Behavioral Health Hospital Team.</p>
