Dr. Amit P. Kurani, MD

Director of Psychiatry

Dr Kurani provides clinical and administrative oversight over a team of 20 full-time and part-time practitioners including psychiatrists, Internal medicine consultants, and Psychiatric nurse practitioners. He completed his psychiatry residency training at the acclaimed UMDNJ (Newark) Psychiatry residency program. During his time there, Dr. Kurani was elected as the Assistant Chief and subsequently re-elected as the Chief resident of the program. He has multiple publications in international medical journals and has been a recipient of the prestigious Lester A. Granet award. 

Dr. Kurani joined the Northbrook Behavioral Health Hospital in 2014. Prior to then, he had worked at Inspira Health Network serving as Medical Director and Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry for several years.
He has been involved with the field of Psychiatry for 20 years and has vast experience in the areas of inpatient, outpatient, crisis, and consultation- liaison psychiatry. Through the years, he has played a key role in identifying and implementing innovative treatment programs across various settings while partnering with different hospital systems, State agencies and Community services.

For more than a decade, he has been actively involved in the development and propagation of Telepsychiatry as an effective treatment modality while maintaining an active practice of Telepsychiatry across multiple states.

Dr. Tomar joined the clinical team at NBHH in 2015 as the Director of Medical Services. He leads a team of physicians and Nurse Practitioners that provides concurrent medical care to patients hospitalized at NBHH for mental health treatment.

Dr Tomar brings a wealth of experience and knowledge and has been serving the population of the Tri-county area in South Jersey since 1994.He is Board certified in Internal medicine and has expertise in managing acute medical issues as well as Chronic conditions.

He has been appointed to many prestigious positions in the past including VP (Medical affairs) and CMO at Complete care, Clinical director of Behavioral health, Inspira health network, Vice-chairman of the Department of Medicine at Inspira health network (Vineland) and President of the Excel care alliance ( Multi-specialty practice group).

In addition to his clinical responsibilities, he remains an essential component and actively collaborates with the administrative and clinical teams at NBHH to enhance the overall quality of care that NBHH strives to provide to every client.

A highly accomplished professional with many years of experience in the healthcare industry, Jacqueline initially joined the Northbrook staff as a Unit Manager and was promoted to the position of Director of Nursing in August of 2022. She has a deep understanding of the complexities of healthcare management and brings a vast wealth of knowledge and experience to her role. Jackie is known for her exceptional leadership, compassionate nature, and dedication to her staff and patients. She is committed to improving healthcare outcomes and is constantly seeking new and innovative ways to enhance the patient’s experience.

A graduate of the Helene Fuld School of Nursing, Jackie’s productive healthcare career began while she was still in high school working in the dietary department of an assisted living community. She eventually became the facility’s Health Care Coordinator overseeing their 60-bed assisted living and dementia units. She has taken on several leadership roles in senior living and psychiatric nursing which include serving as a skilled nursing facility unit manager and charge nurse as well as a building manager at Ancora Psychiatric Hospital.

Outside of work, Jackie is a devoted wife and mother of two daughters. She enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.

Simon’s acclaimed career in healthcare spans more than 25 years in administrative and leadership capacity. Early in his career as a Long-Term Care facility administrator, he was quickly recognized for his exceptional organizational and operational skills, as well as his innovative solutions to challenges.

Over the years he has been appointed to key positions, specifically in taking charge of new acquisitions. In this capacity, Simon gained renown as the leader who would successfully spearhead initiatives resulting in improved patient outcomes, enhanced quality care, quality staffing, and improved operations, earning multiple deficiency-free State survey scores. He ably develops experienced and collaborative teams which contributes greatly to the facility’s continued success.

In 2014 Simon was promoted to Chief Executive Officer at Northbrook where he leads the Hospital’s success as a paradigm acute behavioral health hospital.

Jeffrey Dynof serves as Chief Nursing Officer at Northbrook Behavioral Health Hospital, ‎where he leads a dedicated team of clinical professionals committed to delivering ‎exceptional, compassionate behavioral healthcare.

With extensive leadership experience ‎and a strategic vision for advancing behavioral health services, Jeffrey fosters a culture of ‎excellence, safety, and innovation across the organization. ‎

As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Jeffrey brings a strong ‎clinical perspective to his leadership role, ensuring patient advocacy remains at the ‎forefront of care delivery.

His training as a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and a Master of ‎Business Administration (MBA) enables him to integrate clinical expertise with operational ‎and organizational leadership, driving quality improvement and interdisciplinary ‎collaboration. ‎

He brings a holistic approach to care, drawing on his experience with both medical and ‎psychiatric conditions to support each patient’s overall well being. His leadership helps ‎Northbrook Behavioral Health Hospital continue to grow—advancing nursing practices, ‎strengthening quality standards, and providing comprehensive behavioral health services ‎that truly make a difference in patients’ lives. ‎

Jacquelyn Taylor, Assistant Vice President of Quality and Performance Improvement, is passionate about psychiatric care and committed to delivering high quality healthcare to our patients at Northbrook by ensuring compliance of regulatory standards. She also facilitates performance improvement initiatives for all departments within the organization that yield best practice and services to our patients and their family members.

Jacquelyn has been working in the healthcare industry for 8 years with specialties including psychiatric services, cardiothoracic intensive care, and emergency care/resuscitation within multiple healthcare organizations. Her clinical experience specifically includes direct care with various leadership and education roles. Jacquelyn initially earned her B.S. degree in Psychology from Stony Brook University before attending Drexel University to obtain her B.S.N. and graduated valedictorian of her nursing class. She then obtained her M.S.N. in Nursing Education from Grand Canyon University.

She is a current PhD student studying Nursing Science through Wilkes University with an expected graduation date of 2026. Her research experience examining psychiatric disorders, medical decision-making, emergency code roles and responsibilities, healthcare design and efficiency, and ecotoxicology in addition to her clinical and education experience provides the extensive, necessary knowledge to continuously optimize the behavioral health environment.
